The W. W. Lewis Library has approximately 15,000 books and serves 800 sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students as well as 50 faculty and staff members. We are a fully automated resource center. Our card catalog may be accessed from any one of eleven patron search terminals in the library as well as any classroom in a Calcasieu Parish school. The administrative terminal manages circulation and generates statistical data. In addition to the card catalog, the patron terminals are also equipped with internet access for student investigations as well as Accelerated Reader. Flexible scheduling and team planning are integrating the library program with classroom instruction in an attempt toward more interdisciplinary learning.
